Carol Sommerfield comes to personal, career, and business consulting/coaching with years of related experience and education. She has worked extensively on building and improving organizations through attention to change management, project management, career facilitation, leadership development, and process analysis and improvements. Prior to starting her own practice, Carol was a manager and executive in large global companies for the past 25 years, holding various leadership positions during her career. Most recently she served as Vice President of Americas Global Infrastructure, Director of HR Services for the Americas, and the Integration Project Manager for a major divestiture and acquisition. She has also developed training and coaching programs on change management, managing successfully during organizational uncertainty, mentoring, career management, and coaching for high performance.

Carol Sommerfield, Ph.D., PMP, SPHR, GCDF
Prior to her corporate career Carol was a Fine Artist and taught art privately. Carol has a degree in Fine Arts, an Executive MBA in Management, an MA in Organizational Development and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems. Her dissertation research explored subjective underemployment in repatriated employees, including their coping mechanisms.
In whatever role Carol assumes with her clients she leverages her versatile experience, knowledge and methods. Carol combines her in-depth knowledge of business, group dynamics, leadership development, project management, change management, career development, and personality theory to deliver an approach that provides insight and results as quickly as possible. When working with clients, whether corporations or individuals, it is Carol’s goal to get them on their way as soon as possible armed with the self-knowledge, direction, tools, action plans, and confidence necessary for them to achieve the goal they set for themselves.
Carol is certified both as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and as a Prince 2 Project Manager; she is also a certified Senior HR Professional (SPHR). Additionally, Carol is a Certified Life Coach and has received a certificate in change management from NTL (National Training Laboratories). She is a graduate of the Institute for Life Coach Training and is certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF). She is certified by the British Psychological Society in psychometric assessment and is certified as a Master Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) Practitioner, as well as other personality and career assessments, including the MMTIC (MBTI for children)..
Carol is a member of the following professional organizations: Project Management Institute, Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches, National Career Development Association, International Coaching Federation, Graduate School of Coaching, NY State Career Development Association, Organizational Development Network, National Association for Female Executives, Society for Human Resource Management, American Society of Training and Development, Applied Psychological Type International, Applied Psychological Type, NYC, and Westchester Career Counselors’ Network.
When not helping people with their goals and careers Carol focuses on her artistic career (www.frogsleapgallery.com), plays the flute, and gardens in her native wildlife garden. She has taught coaching, project management and organizational theory at Pace University in New York City in their Professional and Career Development program. She is also a part-time professor for the Keller Graduate School of Management.
